The stark reality is this: the UK holds the unenviable position of having the largest gender health gap within the G20, and ranks 12th globally. This isn't just a statistic; it's a crisis that demands immediate attention. From the shockingly low 2.5% of public research dedicated to reproductive health, despite one in three women facing related issues, to the staggering eight-year average for endometriosis diagnosis, the system is failing women. But the problem goes deeper than diagnostic delays. It's a systemic dismissal of women's pain, a "medical misogyny" that leaves 84% of women feeling unheard by healthcare professionals. The consequences are immense: 150 million lost working days annually and a crippled NHS, where women form the majority of the workforce.

Geeta, in her article on THEHOUSE (March 2025), delves into the urgent need for a radical overhaul of women's healthcare in the UK, arguing that the NHS reform agenda is doomed without addressing these fundamental inequalities.
